Magazine Magazine

A magazine all about magazines.

Have you ever seen the magazine racks at Barnes & Noble?  They’re enormous.  There’s hundreds of different magazines and there’s absolutely no way to keep track of them all.  I haven’t heard of half of them, and if any of them contained anything that I’d enjoy reading in them I’d never be able find it.  So basically I just end up flipping through a guaranteed good one like Sports Illustrated.  But as I stood in the book store one day trying to find something a little different, I suddenly had an epiphany – “What if they made a magazine about magazines?”  They could give previews of the contents of each magazine so that people could actually figure out what they wanted to read.  Now I know that nobody would actually pay for this, but that’s why it’s free.  Instead of charging the consumer, you charge the other magazine companies to have their issues included.  What magazine wouldn’t bite on this idea?  If you were an upstart magazine, what would be a better way to get your name out?  And if you’re already a big name, you still pay to get into Magazine magazine to stay there.  Yet another million dollar idea.
