Episode 5 Elimination: Stephannie

Alright, last week I managed finally to refrain from rambling. I think it was limiting myself to “Three observations” that did the trick.  So since I’m pressed for time again, we’ll stick to that format.

1.  Nathan is a jerk. The members of Raro, who lost immunity for the second consecutive time, were all set to unanimously vote off Cristina. (Which would have made it four straight send-offs for the Latinos, ouch!) During the afternoon,

Stephannie and Nathan were talking about the upcoming tribal council, and Stephannie jokingly remarked that she wouldn’t mind having some mashed potatoes tonight.

What does Nathan do?  He goes running off and blabs to everyone that Stephannie no longer wants to be in the game. And convinces everyone to vote her off instead of Cristina so she can have her mashed potatoes.  Why someone would do that to their friend, when their own head was never on the chopping block, is beyond me.  Unless, you’re just a gigantic jerk.

2.  Nathan is stupid. Here’s a scenario for you:  Someone that’s really annoying is all set to be voted off at tribal council.  You’re completely safe.

Why on earth would you go out of your way to backstab a friend, someone who could potentially be a strong alliance partner for you down the road, and have them get kicked out of the game instead?

The answer:  You’re stupid.

3.  Alliance = Trouble. You would think that Team CaucAsian nearly has this game in the bag.  Raro is crumbling, which would make them the tribe with numbers at the merge.  Yul has the immunity idol. And they’ve managed to sucker in Sundra as a fifth member, which gives them the numbers in their tribe and an easy person to vote off at the very end.  You would think they had it wrapped up.  But you’d be wrong.

Not the season.  Any other season, yes.  But not Cook Islands.  Almost everybody in the cast knows how to play the game. Two major alliances have already been sniffed out, when they would have run the table in past years.  So when the merge hits, don’t think for a second that whoever’s left from Ozzy, Cao Boi, and Jessica isn’t jumping on the bandwagon with the remnants of Raro and trying to take Team CaucAsian down.

Believe me. This one ain’t over yet.
