Episode 10 Elimination: Bruce

I hate to say “I told you so” when somebody is writhing on the ground because their colon is about to burst.  But Bruce, “I told you so”.  When this guy told his fellow Casaya members that that filtering water through a t-shirt was just as good as boiling it, I knew we were in for some serious GI trouble.  Bruce’s 90% pure water cost him 100% of his chances of winning the game. I apologize if that sounds a little harsh.  I’m still a little bitter from Sally’s demise.  Anyway, this episode was absolutely amazing.

Over the past few weeks Shane has almost lulled me into thinking he wasn’t completely insane.  The way the guy held his Casaya team together has been absolutely amazing. They all hate each other, and they’re all, with the exception of Cirie, severely lacking in the IQ department.  So the fact that they’ve hung together, even in the face of guaranteed final four offers from Terry, is simply astounding.  And it’s all thanks to Shane.

When the reward challenge featured the classic “Everyone has three ropes, and if you get a question correct you can chop somebody’s rope” game, I knew that the insanity was bound to return.  And as an added bonus, the question’s were lame trivia about Panama, they featured questions such as who was the most annoying tribe member? (Courtney) Who was the biggest poser? (Courtney)  And who was so unbelievably stupid that listening to them talk for more than four minutes would make you want to take one of her special dancing instruments and light yourself on fire? (Courtney)

Needless to say, Courtney was more than a little upset.  But the highlight of all highlights was the aforementioned Shane who started going ballistic every time somebody chopped his rope. Through ten episodes Shane has completely shattered the reality television record for death-threats to fellow cast-members with 26. And his tirade culminated with his final rope getting chopped and Shane tossing his answer cards in the air like a six-year old overturning a Monopoly board.  It was bar-none the greatest temper tantrum by a psychotic chain-smoker trapped on a deserted island in all of history.  Now that’s something to put on a resume’.

Of course Cirie managed to add some fuel to the fire by winning the challenge and opting to leave Shane behind in favor of Aras and Danielle.  This enfuriated Shane who later dropped the classic comment “I’ve been carrying her on my back the entire game, all 300 pounds of her.”  Yes folks, this is the kind of humor you only get to experience around the chemically imbalanced.

With Terry exiled, Cirie and her companions off on reward, and Bruce confined to a Panamanian ER, Shane and Courtney were left all by themselves.  This led to countless outbursts, another death threat, and another classic comment in which Shane, that’s right SHANE, said “She’s so scary, man. She’s a lunatic.”  Wow. That’s all I can say about that one.

But Shane did mention that Courtney would be a dream to take into the final. And if my prediction holds up, then these two just may end up with a little more quality time together, something which I think neither of them would mind.  You see, it’s come to my attention that these two enjoy driving each other crazy a little too much.  That’s right, we’ve got a little case of Fatal Attraction going on.  Mark my words, by the time we’ve experienced the recap show, we’ll have crowned the next Rob and Amber, minus a chromosome or two.  Imagine Shane’s son’s delight:  Kid, we know you’ve had it rough being raised by an schizophrenic who has exposed you to so much second-hand smoke that you’re a 1:4 favorite of developing mesothelioma by 17.  But that was nothing.  Meet your new mom, the fire dancer!

Bruce’s GI problems completely shook up the game.  Allowing Terry to make it another round closer to the final without using the idol.  As a result, the odds have been shook up a bit this week.

Predictions/Odds from best to worst:

Danielle:  If Terry gets immunity next week, then she’s gone.  So that’s not looking good for her.  If he doesn’t and they’re smart, Casaya will split their vote up 3 for Terry 2 for Danielle just in case the immunity idol came into play.  Also not good.  Basically, her only hope would be Terry losing immunity, nailing Aras with the idol, and then having him lose immunity the next week.  Terry losing immunity twice in a row?  Also extremely unlikely.  And even if she made it that far, she’d still only be in the final four.

Odds: 14:1  Last week: 8:1

Dumb Aras:  I have to ask myself, what are the chances that he manages to outlive Terry?  Because those are about his chances of pulling this thing out.

Odds: 10:1  Last week: 9:1

Cirie:  If it comes down to Shane, Aras, Courtney, her and Terry with immunity, then Aras and Shane may have a difficult time parting with their “guaranteed win” in Courtney.  I still see her going far though.

Odds: 9:1   Last week: 10:1

Terry:  He’s in the final six, guaranteed to be in the final five.  He now only needs to win 3 out of 4 immunities.  I honestly think he’s got a better shot than anybody other than Courtney of being in the final.  But Casaya has managed to be loyal, almost to a fault.  So would it surprise anybody that someone like Shane could beat him with 5 fellow tribe members in the jury?

Odds: 6:1  Last week: 7:1

Shane:  The longer Casaya holds, the better chances he has.  If for some reason his tribe respects him enough to stay together like this, they might just respect him enough to vote him through in the end.

Odds: 5:1  Last week: 5:1

The Fire Dancer:  I’m almost positive we’ll see her in the final, but after the way her tribe nailed her in the reward challenge, I’m less confident that she’ll be able to get the votes.

Odds: 5:1  Last week: 4:1

Final Prediction: Courtney over Shane 4-3

Last Week: Courtney over Shane 5-2
