Terry, desperate for any type of alliance, began to work the girls hard. And Courtney was all too happy to take Terry’s bait. In all honesty, that would have been an alliance made in heaven for the two of them. Even though there’s a great shot that Terry will run the table in the immunity challenges, it’s going to be difficult to nab the vote from the incredibly biased former Casaya tribe. His only hope is to go up against somebody as unpopular as Shane or Courtney. Likewise, Courtney’s only prayer was to go up against someone as detested as Terry or as psychotic as Shane. If the fact that somebody like Terry, who would have won all but one of the immunity challenges to get that far, would probably be the under dog in a final tribal council against Shane or Courtney doesn’t prove that this season of Survivor has been completely insane, nothing does. I rest my case.
Terry also managed to rope in Danielle with his offer. I mean how often do you get the chance to be in a three-way alliance where you would slaughter either of the other two people in the final? The one draw-back for her was that both of those two people knew it, so she would have to win the final immunity challenge to get her million. And what are the chances of her taking down Terry? So Danielle ingeniously engineered a clause where the winner of the final immunity would take the second place finisher to the final. Terry was happy because it guarantees him $100,000 as there’s no way he’s finishing last. Danielle was happy because now she only has to outlast Courtney to win the entire thing. And Courtney wasn’t too happy because it took away her guaranteed payday, but basically had to accept or admit that she was just riding coattails. It seemed like the perfect set-up for the final three, except for the fact that Danielle was involved. And Danielle always manages to make the worst decision possible. You see, for some reason, Danielle and Courtney decided that it would be a good idea to discuss their new alliance right in front of Cirie. The woman may be afraid of leaves, but she’s by far the most calculating player left in the game. She knows that her biggest threats aren’t Terry or Aras, they’re Courtney and Shane. Because the Fatal Attraction twins are so disliked, everyone is going to try to take them along for the easy win, leaving Cirie in the dust since her ability to keep her mouth shut makes her almost unbeatable. Now most people would have gone right to Shane and tried to counteract the newly formed alliance with a three-way of their own. But Cirie doesn’t want to be with Shane for the reason’s I’ve already stated. So what does she do? She comes up with the perfect plan to get rid of both of the psychopaths. Realizing that if you offered Danielle the choice between a brand new Porsche and a pine cone enema, she’d bend over, Cirie managed to get the girl to leave her 50% shot at a million bucks to join a new three way alliance in which she has absolutely no chance of beating either of the other two people. Remember, this is the same girl who turned down the hidden immunity idol and a guaranteed spot in the final four several episodes ago. Now she ditched the two most hated people on the island to join forces with Cirie and Aras. And with Courtney out of the picture and Shane soon to follow, Cirie’s improbable comeback from “the most likely to be voted off first” to “sole Survivor” is looking better and better each day. Well until Terry loses immunity and knocks Aras out of the game with the hidden idol…
So apparently these odds aren’t very reliable seeing as my pre-game favorite got the axe two weeks ago and Courtney, her replacement was just knocked off as well. But on the bright side, the world may have been spared the horror of the Shane/Courtney love-child. With that in mind, there are this week’s Predictions/Odds from best to worst: Shane: His only prayer is that Terry loses immunity. Otherwise, he’s gone. He might actually be gone anyway since Aras is far better off hoping to beat Terry at the end then gambling with the hidden idol. So basically, if that idol doesn’t come into play, he’s gone. Which is really a shame, since I would have loved nothing more than to have Shane lose a 4-3 vote in the final to Danielle prompting the biggest mental break down in live television history. Odds: 10:1 Last week: 5:1 Dumb Aras: Here’s his predicament – He’s already proven multiple times that he’s never going to beat Terry in an endurance challenge. Which means that in order for him to win this game he’ll need to have Terry lose the next two immunity challenges and not get nailed when Terry pulls out the idol. Yeah, I’m not liking those chances either. Odds: 8:1 Last week: 10:1 Danielle: The girl had the game all but wrapped up this week. Seriously, assuming Terry would keep his word, all she needed to do was outlast Courtney in the final immunity challenge to get her million bucks. Now? She’s got to bank on the fact that Terry, who’s guaranteed to be in the final four, takes her along for the ride. Well, either that or Aras getting nailed by the idol, which would force Cirie to align with her. Odds: 5:1 Last week: 14:1 I know that the general consensus is that he’ll have great difficulty breaking down the Casaya clique. I agree to a point. If he ends up facing Cirie or Aras, he’s finished. But if he sits across from Shane or Danielle, it may not be as tough as everyone thinks. He has Austin. He has Sally. You would think against those two he’d have Bruce. That means he only needs one person to flip. Do you think it’s very far-fetched that an already emotionally bruised and betrayed Courtney would go against her team? I don’t either. Odds: 4:1 Last week: 6:1 Cirie: She’s in the final four. She’s almost guaranteed to be in the final three. The only way she doesn’t get there is if Aras gets nailed by the idol next week, and even then, I still like her odds. So it all boils down to whether or not somebody would actually take her into to the final challenge. I could see Dumb Aras being, well, dumb enough to play the loyalty card and cost himself the mil. Terry’s hand may be forced if he has to choose between her and Aras. And we all know how much Danielle loves those pine cones… I’m sorry, I love that line. It was pretty funny wasn’t it? Odds: 3:1 Last week: 9:1 Final Prediction: Shane goes next week, followed by Danielle. Terry wins the final immunity and picks Cirie to go beside him. Cirie over Terry: 4-3 Last Week: Courtney over Shane 4-3 |
