6th Elimination: Rita

Things are finally starting to heat up in Fiji!  Onto the blog…

1. Total Domination: This week’s reward challenge couldn’t have been any more unfair.  It was a modified sumo wrestling contest.  So when you have the malnourished and tiny Ravu tribe going up against the well-fed and large Moto tribe, it’s no surprise that the rich got even richer.

Despite the nearly pre-determined outcome, this challenge was once again, extremely entertaining.  You’ve got to hand it to the producers this season.  The cast is subpar and the teams are lopsided, but the challenges have been stellar.  Watching Cassandra send the half-as-big Rita flying was hilarious.  But nothing could top the Rocky-Dreamz showdown.  These two already had bad blood boiling from their night one shouting match, so when Rocky started screaming like a maniac before the challenge and calling Dreamz out, I knew we were in for something good.  Sure enough, Dreamz sent Rocky flying off the platform into the mud, humiliating the game biggest loudmouth ever.

2. A nice snake? Back at Moto, Lisi and Stacy continued to destroy what was almost a sure trip to the final five.  The two girls, along with Boo, Edgardo, and Alex have a solid alliance going.  And judging by their tribe’s absolute dominance, they could’ve had a fairly easy run to the end.

However, last week the girls decided to gang up on Liliana, their strongest woman, and sent her packing.  This week, they felt it would be a good idea to pick on Dreamz and basically treated the guy like dirt. It was seriously disgusting how degrading they were to him, talking to him like he was an idiot and refusing to help him make coffee.

Thankfully, Alex had a bit more class and helped him out.  I got to give him credit – the guy is surprisingly nice.  I originally refrained from making him my pick for fear of him being a typical lawyer – sneaky and slimy.  But he’s really proven the stereotype to be wrong.

And he’s also smart.  He realized that if Moto continued to win, they could eventually get the numbers to 7-3.  That’s prime time for a merge. Then he realized that if Lisi and Stacy continued to make Dreamz and Cassandra feel like outcasts, there’s a good chance they would flip over to Ravu and make things 5-5. So basically, by acting like jerks, Stacy and Lisi could effectively destroy everything that Moto had worked for.  Alex talked to his alliance members about putting on a more unified front to prevent Dreamz and Cassandra from flopping.

However, it appeared a little to late, as Dreamz revealed that he was already planning on switching sides.  What did I tell you last week about the game making you pay for bad decisions?

3. A whole new game. To make a long story short, Ravu lost yet again and sent Rita packing.  It appeared that Moto would continue to just run the table all the way to the merge.  However, we’ve already had that happen in Survivor: Palau, so you knew the producers would eventually switch up the tribes.  And that’s exactly what’s happening next week.

It kinda stinks since Edgardo was sitting in a very, very good position.  But at least the show is bound to get a lot more interesting…
